Career & Recruitment Policy

At Haventria Technologies Ltd, we believe talent has no boundaries. Our recruitment process is designed to be transparent, fair, inclusive, and fully compliant with UK employment law. This policy sets out how we recruit, treat, and support candidates.

1. Equal Opportunities Commitment

We are proud to be an Equal Opportunities Employer. Recruitment and employment decisions are based solely on skills, qualifications, and potential, regardless of:

  • Age

  • Disability

  • Gender reassignment

  • Marriage or civil partnership

  • Pregnancy or maternity

  • Race, nationality, or ethnic origin

  • Religion or belief

  • Sex

  • Sexual orientation

We are a Disability Confident Committed Employer and welcome applications from candidates with disabilities or long-term health conditions. Reasonable adjustments will be made at every stage of the recruitment process.

2. Recruitment & Advertising

  • Job vacancies are advertised openly, with clear role descriptions, key skills, and essential criteria.

  • All adverts use inclusive language and avoid bias.

  • Applications can be made directly through our careers page or by emailing CVs and cover letters.

  • Where no current roles are available, we encourage speculative applications.

3. Selection & Interview Process

  • All candidates are assessed against the requirements of the role.

  • Interviews are conducted fairly, with structured questions aligned to the role criteria.

  • Interviewers are trained to avoid bias and ensure consistent evaluation.

  • Feedback can be provided to candidates on request.

4. Data Protection & Candidate Privacy

In line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, candidate data is:

  • Collected only for recruitment purposes.

  • Stored securely and confidentially.

  • Shared only with those involved in the recruitment process.

  • Retained for a maximum of 6 months after the process ends, unless explicit consent is given to hold data longer.

  • Handled in accordance with our [Privacy Policy].

5. Right to Work & Pre-Employment Checks

  • All successful candidates must provide proof of their legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.

  • Where required, we may also conduct reference checks, qualifications verification, or DBS checks (for roles involving sensitive data or regulated activity).

  • Any conditional offers are subject to the completion of these checks.

6. Accessibility & Adjustments

  • We are committed to ensuring our recruitment process is fully accessible.

  • Applicants can request adjustments at any stage — from the application form to interviews or assessments.

  • Examples include providing information in alternative formats, flexible interview arrangements, or accessible venues.

7. Transparency on Pay & Benefits

  • Roles are advertised with clear information on salary or pay bands.

  • Benefits such as pensions, holiday entitlements, insurance, and wellbeing perks are published to ensure candidates understand what to expect.

  • Haventria reviews its pay and benefits regularly to maintain fairness and competitiveness.

8. Diversity & Inclusion Monitoring

  • We may collect anonymous data on gender, ethnicity, disability, and other protected characteristics for monitoring purposes.

  • This information is voluntary, confidential, and not used in selection decisions.

9. Safeguarding & Ethical Employment

  • We uphold our duty to protect employees and candidates from unfair treatment, harassment, or exploitation.

  • We do not charge fees to candidates at any stage of the recruitment process.

  • As part of our ethical commitments, if required by law, Haventria will publish a Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement.

10. Policy Review

This policy is reviewed annually to ensure compliance with UK law and best practice. Updates are made in line with changes to employment legislation, data protection rules, and our commitments as a Disability Confident employer.
